Public Administration in the Age of AI: The LEITAI Research Center Hosts a Debate at the Chamber of Deputies on Policy and Governance Challenges
On May 26, in the Sala del Refettorio at Palazzo San Macuto, representatives from government institutions, experts, and the academic community will discuss use cases and the digital transformation of the state. Speakers will include top officials from ACN, AgID, and the Chamber of Deputies.
The integration of artificial intelligence into the public administration represents a crucial challenge for the modernization of the state, caught between the need to accelerate innovation and the obligation to ensure effective governance models capable of balancing law, ethics, and cybersecurity.
To analyze concrete use cases and define strategic trajectories, the LEITAI Interuniversity Research Center (Centre for Law and Ethics of Innovation, Technology and Artificial Intelligence)—sponsored by Pegaso, Mercatorum, and San Raffaele Roma Universities—has organized a conference titled “The Public Administration in the Age of AI. Use Cases and Policy Challenges for the Digital Transformation of Institutions”. The event is scheduled for the morning of Tuesday, May 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (with admission starting at 9:15 a.m.), in Rome at the prestigious Sala del Refettorio of the Chamber of Deputies (Palazzo San Macuto, Via del Seminario 76).
The proceedings, led by the Scientific Coordination Committee comprising Professors Andrea Stazi, Fernanda Faini, and Giuseppe Corasaniti, will open with welcoming remarks by Anna Ascani (Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies) and Luciano Violante (President of the Multiversity Foundation). The introduction to the context and objectives of the morning session will be presented by Andrea Stazi, Director of the LEITAI Center and Full Professor at the San Raffaele University in Rome.
The core of the conference will unfold through two key sessions of multidisciplinary dialogue among industry leaders, institutions, and the academic community:
-
- Roundtable “AI Governance in Dialogue with Research”: moderated by Giuseppe Corasaniti (Deputy Director of the LEITAI Center and Full Professor at Universitas Mercatorum), featuring keynote speeches by Claudia Di Andrea (Deputy Secretary General of the Chamber of Deputies), Bruno Frattasi (Director General of the National Cybersecurity Agency – ACN), Mario Nobile (Director General of the Agency for Digital Italy – AgID), and Angelo M. Petroni (Secretary General of the Aspen Institute Italy).
-
