LEITAI

LEITAI, the Interuniversity Research Center for Law and Ethics of Innovation, Technology, and Artificial Intelligence, dedicated to research on the future, is sponsored by the San Raffaele, Pegaso, and Mercatorum Universities of the Multiversity Group.

The Interuniversity Research Center Centre for Law and Ethics of Innovation, Technology and Artificial Intelligence (LEITAI) was established through a strategic collaboration between the three online universities of the Multiversity Group: San Raffaele Online University in Rome, Pegaso Online University, and Universitas Mercatorum Online University.

LEITAI aims to establish itself as a center of national and international excellence dedicated to exploring the legal, ethical, and social aspects of digital transformation, focusing its research on the crucial relationship between law and new technologies, particularly on legal informatics and the comparative law of innovation and new technologies.

The Center’s fundamental objective is to enhance the research, education, and third-mission capabilities of the participating universities, thereby making a significant impact on the country’s social, cultural, and economic fabric. The main topics of study concern the critical challenges of regulating the digital society and range from data and algorithm governance to artificial intelligence and robotics, from cybersecurity to biotechnology, and from blockchain to the metaverse.

The Center, led by Director Prof. Andrea Stazi (Full Professor of Comparative Private Law, San Raffaele Telematic University, Rome) together with the Deputy Directors, Prof. Fernanda Faini (Associate Professor of Philosophy of Law, Pegaso Telematic University) and Prof. Giuseppe Corasaniti (Full Professor of Philosophy of Law, Universitas Mercatorum), is working diligently to promote scientific research capable of impacting society through a synergistic combination of diverse tools: the organization of conferences and symposia, book presentations, the organization of seminars and public talks, publication in leading scientific journals, the production of in-depth papers on the most significant challenges, participation in public consultations on relevant legislation and guidelines, and participation in competitive international and national calls for proposals, as well as fostering training, educational, and third-mission initiatives.
